In a move to end the menace of corruption and root it out of the country, the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi government will soon be involving the common man on the much larger scale than ever. It is reported that Delhi govt. is developing an app for the smartphone users to carry out the sting operations and expose the corrupt officials. According to a senior official, the app is currently in works and might be released in a month’s time. The app, when launched on the smartphone, will automatically switch off the display and the smartphone will appear to be switched off. The audio and video recorded by the app will automatically uploaded to secure servers monitored by the govt. officials. This is the first time the govt. is involving the general public at this larger extent in the battle against corruption.
The app is known as Sting App as of now and will enable the smartphone users to record audios and videos of the officials demanding bribes and will be uploaded to secure servers. Other than this, in case the smartphone is damaged during the recording process then the data will not be lost and will be backed up automatically to the servers and will be used by the govt. to carry a crackdown on corrupt officials and will be used as evidence in the further investigation. Apart from the app, the Delhi Govt. is re-launching the anti-corruption helpline number 1031 starting April 5. The helpline was started last year by Delhi govt. for the people to report to the corrupt officials. With the app and the helpline, it seems like Delhi govt. will be tightening the noose around the necks of corrupt officials.
