In the specification war, it seems like a new player is going to dominate the market soon. Asus is all set to launch it’s ZenFone 2 smartphones (three different models with the same name) and one of them will have a whooping 4GB of RAM.
After announcing its World’s first smartphone to feature 4GB of RAM, Asus has now posted a picture, confirming the release date of the device in India.
Finally, the launch event is scheduled to be on April 23rd in New Delhi, excited?
Hopefully, all three models under the banner ‘ZenFone 2’, ZE551ML, ZE550ML, and ZE500CL, will be available with different specifications and different price tags.
According to the teaser, the giant model (with 4GB of RAM) is definitely arriving while it’s still not sure of remaining two. As a market watcher, I’m pretty sure that all three models will surface because it will help the brand to increase its market share.
Asus ZenFone 2 Specifications and Details
Now, let’s talk about the ZenFone 2 specifications and other details known so far.
The top model, ZenFone 2 ZE551ML, features 5.5 inch of full HD (1080p) display, along with 2.3GHz quad-core processor (Intel Atom Z3580 Chipset), 4GB of RAM, LTE, and NFC.
It also has 13MP camera at rear and 5MP for the selfie lovers. The Android 5.0 Lollipop is already there but with ZenUI skin on top. The device got a slot for microSD card (supporting up to 64GB size) while three different (16/32/64) internal storage options are also there. It is powered by 3000mAh battery.
Now, the second best model in the group (i.e. ZenFone 2 ZE550ML) features 5.5 inch HD display, 1.8GHz quad-core processor (Intel Atom Z3560 Chipset), 2GB of RAM, and 5MP selfie camera.
The device is powered by the 3000mAh battery while it is only available with a 16GB storage option. microSD card of up to 64GB is also supported. LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, are there, but NFC is missing.
Third in the group is ZenFone 2 ZE500CL, featuring just 5inch HD display, dual-core processor (Intel Atom Z2560 Chipset), 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, and LTE.
It is powered by 2500mAh battery unit and possesses 8MP rear camera and 2MP selfie camera. It got space for microSIM card.
All three models are powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop OS while ZenUI is there on top.
Previously launched ZenFone smartphones in the country managed to do well and this time, Asus must be expecting more.
By adding 4GB of RAM for the first time in the world, they already gain the hype in the market but, it is yet to see how the device performance comes out in practical usage.
Till now, the only thing that didn’t please me was the nomenclature of these units. Naming and remembering them is pretty confusing.
