The Taiwan based tech giant HTC announced the launch of Desire Eye smartphone in India alongside the One M8 Eye. The Desire Eye will be made available exclusively via online retailer Amazon in late November and its pricing remains unknown. On the other hand, the One M8 Eye smartphone is priced at Rs 38,900 and it will debut on sale starting from the next week.
To detail on specifications, the Desire Eye is given a 5.2 inch FHD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powering the device is a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor teamed up with Adreno 330 graphics engine.
Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat topped with Sense 6.0, the Desire Eye comes with dual 13 MP front and rear cameras, both with dual LED flash for enhanced photography performance. The rear snapper has f/2.0 aperture, 28 mm lens and FHD 1080p video recording, whereas the front facer has f/2.0 aperture and 22 mm wide angle lens to click broader selfies. Furthermore, there is support for Eye Experience with new feature set such as Face Tracking, Split Capture, Live Makeup, Crop Me In, Auto Seflie and others.
There is 16 GB of internal storage space in the Desire Eye that can be expanded externally by another 128 GB. Also, the device has connectivity features such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS and a 2,400 mAh battery to power it from within. The smartphone has dual front facing stereo speakers with built in amplifiers and HTC BoomSound technology and a water resistant IPX7 build.
On the other hand, the HTC One M8 Eye is given a 5 inch FHD display with 1080p resolution and is stuffed with a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor paired with Adreno 330 graphics unit and 2 GB of RAM. While the storage and, connectivity and software departments are pretty identical to those of the HTC Desire Eye, this smartphone comes with a 2,600 mAh battery.
In terms of imaging, the One M8 Eye has a 13 MP rear camera with dual LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens and Duo Camera setup for depth sensing. Also, there is a 5 MP front facing selfie camera with support for FHD 1080p video recording.
