If you didn’t like the fact that earlier launched 2015 flagships from HTC were powered by MediaTek chipset, then your obsession can be treated now.
HTC has introduced a new smartphone named HTC J Butterfly, HTV31. At this moment, the device is available only in Japan but it will be available for global markets soon.
The release date for Japan is set for early June which clearly indicates that the device will be available in global markets from the month of July for sure.
The specs sheet is pretty impressive and so does the build. If you remember the HTC Desire Eye, then you must remember the front camera placement. In the same way, J Butterfly holds a camera on the front, right at the centre with a flash.
The front holds 13MP shooter while the rear holds a 20.2MP duo shooter. The Duo cameras are in there to capture more details in every picture and thus help the imaging using its software gimmicks. The rear camera can even record 4k videos.
On the CPU side, Snapdragon 810 chipset is powering the device along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Storage expansion option is also there. Android 5.0 Lollipop (with HTC Sense 7) is running the show.
On the front, 5.2inch Super LCD3 Quad HD display is added which is definitely going to deliver an awesome experience. This display size helps the device to sit between the One E9+ and One M9.
High-resolution audio chip is also part of the device along with traditional dual front speakers. IP55/IP57 protection is also there. LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC are all inside.
2,700mAh battery is powering the device with Quick Charging and HTC even states the device to be charged up in 110 minutes only.
Together, this device is really looking good. The only reason why HTC One M9 sales are poor is because of the camera performance. If J Butterfly can offer a better upgrade then I am sure it will help the fanboys.
