September 17, 2014 by Abhinaya Prabhu

The LG G3 Beat that was listed for pre-order in the last week via the online retailers in India is now officially released with a pricing of Rs 25,000. The handset with a compact and stylish design was announced in July and it borrows many aspects from the flagship model, LG G3.

Talking of its design, the mid-ranger comes with a ‘Floating Arc Design’ that was initially featured by the LG G3. It also comes with smooth curved edges and gradually tapered edges. There are buttons at its back to facilitate convenient operation of the handset.

The highlight of this mid ranger is its photography capabilities that include an 8 MP primary snapper at its rear with LED flash, Last Auto Focus and OIS+. These aspects were also a part of the LG G3 and they help in rendering a good user experience. At the front, the G3 Beat comes with a 1.3 MP front-facing camera that should be capable of handling the selfie and video conferencing departments efficiently.

Otherwise, the handset has similar specs as the other mid range offerings that are available in the market. It carries a 5 inch IPS display with a HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels that translates to a pixel density of 294 ppi. Fueled by Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the LG G3 Beat comes equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor that ticks at 1.2 GHz. This processor is paired with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded externally using a micro SD card.

Connectivity wise, the LG offering comes packed with a slew of features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS and 3G to facilitate seamless connectivity on the go. Under its hood, there is a 2,540 mAh battery that should be adequate enough to power the device.

When it comes to the software front, the LG G3 Beat comes pre-loaded with Touch & Shoot that lets users to touch anywhere on the screen to focus and shoot, Gesture Shot that will automatically launch a three second countdown before clicking a picture on a gesture and others such as Quick Memo+, Smart Keyboard, overhauled UX and Knock Code.
