LG, the Korean smartphone makers has launched yet another phone in the Indian market. The device in news this time is the LG Max and it’s priced around Rs. 10,990. It is selfie phone and gets a 5 megapixel front facing camera.
The LG Max is the successor to the LG L Bello that was launched in India last year. As a follow up device there are not a lot of changes that are done to the phone. The phone gets a 5 inch display with a mediocre resolution of 854×480 pixels. The phone has a 1.3GHz Quad Core processor and 1GB of RAM. It gets 8GB of internal storage and expandable memory via a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 32GB.
The Max has an 8 megapixel autofocus camera at the back while the cherry on the cake is the 5 megapixel camera. The phone also gets some features from the G Series of smartphones like Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash. There are not a lot of phones with a led setup on the front in the price range and that is what distinguishes the Max from the rest. Software wise the phone is running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with LG’s custom UI on top of it. Good battery light is sought after in an Android smartphone and to meet that LG has crammed in a 2540 mAh battery which should be able to deliver.
It is a little surprising to see such specifications on a phone that costs Rs. 10,000. For example the Coolpad Dazen 1 is priced around Rs. 6000 and has a better display resolution (1280×720 pixels, 5 inch screen) and 2GB of RAM. Also looking at the spec sheets of both the LG Bello and the LG Max there are not a lot of changes that stand out. With smartphone makers offering incredible hardware for throwaway prices it’ll be interesting to watch if the Max can do something on its own.
