If you like the design of Lumia 920 which is the best smartphone with Windows 8 phone operating system but not able to buy that due to its high price tag then I’ve an option for you here – Lumia 520.
Nokia has updated the list of Lumia smartphones with a new Lumia 520 that is a low end Windows smartphone. The design of the device is very identical to that of Lumia 920 but a huge difference in the price tag.
Here I’ve the review of the latest Lumia 520 Windows smartphone which is a good device to have if you like to have windows smartphone.
First Impression – Lumia 520
The first impression I got was pretty good as I didn’t expected the device to look so good. Nokia has kept the price tag really cheap so that the device is able to compete with android smartphones. Everything inside was good as expected.
Design
The design of the device is really good and unique but similar to Lumia 920. If you see the device horizontally then you’ll find a smiley curve. Nokia is also providing different color body covers so the customization is very simple.
CPU
The device is provided with dual core processor with clock speed of 1GHz that is supported by the internal 512MB RAM. The device also has Adreno 305 GPU inside to provide better graphics performance.
So the CPU is really fast and the dual core processor makes the multi tasking even smoother.
Display
It has 4 inch LCD display with pixel density of 233 ppi and resolution of 480×800 pixels. The stuff looks really great on the display and I should tell you that Nokia has provided a smartphone which is really worth of its price tag.
Dimension
Lumia 520 measures about 119.9 mm long, 64 mm wide and just 9.9 mm thick. The device fits in hand comfortably and I didn’t need to adjust the grip to reach corners. The device is also very light weight, its just 124 grams.
Camera
The camera quality is really impressive as it got the 5MP camera at back but it should have been provided with the flash light as well. Also, it doesn’t have the front camera but the quality of the images was good in the day light.
OS
The OS is Windows Phone 8 developed by the Microsoft. It’s the third most popular smartphone OS right now and it’s pretty good. You can keep all of your Windows stuff sync with the device easily as it got the Microsoft’s OS.
Data
The device has got Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for the wireless data connectivity. It also has a microUSB port for USB data transfer.
The device is capable of operating well on 3G HSDPA and 2G cellular network and needs the microSIM to be inserted.
Storage
The device is provided with 8GB of internal storage but not the complete is provided for the user. You can also expand the storage further up to 64GB.
Battery Life
The device is packed with 1430mAh battery that is able to make the device live for at least one day easily. If you use it over 3G and surf the internet then it can stay for about 6-8 hours.
The price of the device is really cheap as it has the price tag of just $185. So you’re getting a good smartphone at cheap price that means the device is really worth of its price tag.
