Meizu Brings the Meizu M2 Note to India For Rs 9,999

August 6, 2015 by Aditya S

The Indian market has become a lot more receptive to the Chinese brands, and the likes of OnePlus and Xiaomi have named the region among their key region of interest. This has made the entry of any new brand from China a lot easier than the case was about a couple of years ago, where the ‘Made in China’ tag was a bit of an unnecessary evil that just about everybody had to fight in order to make any suitable headway. After the success enjoyed by Xiaomi, OnePlus and Gionee, Meizu is the next major Chinese brand to test the waters in the Indian market.

Meizu has announced the Meizu M2 Note in India. The Meizu M2 Note is technically the successor to the Meizu M1 Note which was announced in June, though not a lot of volume of devices were made available. This time though, Meizu is partnering with Amazon as an exclusive distributor of the Meizu M2 Note, which will go on sale starting August 10th for a price of Rs 9,999.

Meizu M2 Note

In terms of specifications, the Meizu M2 Note comes with a 1080 P display which measures 5.5 inch diagonally. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz with Mali T720 MP2 GPU. There is 2 GB RAM on board with 16 GB internal memory and slot for expansion via Micro SD card. The device supports up to 128 GB of Micro SD card which is inserted into the first of the dual SIM slot available if need be. The rear camera on the Meizu M2 Note is 13 MP with f/2.2 aperture while the front facing camera is an OmniVision 5670 sensor with 5 MP. The battery on the Meizu M2 Note is 3100 mAh. The phone supports, both the FDD and TDD bands in India for 4G LTE so you will not have to worry about the future proofing of device. The smartphone runs Android 5.1 out of the box with Flyme OS on top.

The USP of the phone is its unique mBack home button which allows users to configure how the button will respond based on the use case. For example, a short tap on the button will take you back, while a long press will take you to the Home screen. This is very similar to the way Apple has implemented Force Touch on its recent line of products like the new Macbook Air and Apple Watch. The Meizu M2 Note is globally available in several colors including white, pink, cyan and more though it is not clear which of these will be making the journey to India.
