After the launch of Android One smartphone, Canvas A1, the leading India based smartphone manufacturer Micromax appears to be on a launch spree. The vendor seems to be in plans to launch two entry-level smartphones dubbed Bolt A064 and Bolt A082 for Rs 3,301 and Rs 4,399 respectively. Both the smartphones have been listed on both the official Micromax website and online retailers.
Talking of the Micromax Bolt A064, the smartphone flaunts a 3.5 inch HVGA display with a resolution of 320×480 pixels and uses a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor paired with 512 MB of RAM. The handset bundles 4 GB of native storage space that can be expanded externally by another 32 GB using a micro SD card.
The imaging aspects of the smartphone include a 2 MP primary camera without LED flash and VGA front facer. The other aspects of the Bolt A064 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, dual SIM functionality and a 1,400 mAh battery.
On the other hand, the Bolt A082 is given a 4 inch IPS display with a WVGA 480×800 pixel resolution and employs a dual-core 1 GHz MediaTek MT6572M processor supplemented by 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage capacity expandable up to 32 GB as in the Bolt A064.
Also, the connectivity features onboard the Bolt A082 is pretty similar to the other entry-level smartphone and a 1,700 mAh battery that is claimed to provide 7 hours of talk time and 160 hours of standby time respectively.
Fueled by Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, both the smartphones are pre-loaded with Micromax applications such as M! Live, M! Games, M! Insurance, M! Security, M! Pick, Reverie, Hike, Getit, Opera, Kingsoft Office, Game Club, Saavn, and Zapr Games. The specifications of these smartphones are quite decent for the pricing they ask, but the lack of 3G connectivity is a weakness. However, these Micromax smartphones could be considered reasonable feature phone upgrades in the sub Rs 5,000 price bracket.
