Micromax has progressed into one of the best homegrown manufacturers as it has launched a slew of striking and solid smartphones in the market at reasonable price brackets. As the competition in the Android space is increasing steeply, the vendor has not been able to deliver something different to its fans and it appears to have taken an unique approach that has not been ventured by the other native vendors.
Well, there are rumors that Micromax has joined hands with CyanogenMod Inc. in order to announce its next big ticket smartphone. But, the details regarding the smartphone were not known then. Now, a report has emerged speculating almost all the information about the device in question.
Well, a Droid Goblin report sheds light on the possible specifications of the Micromax Canvas 5 smartphone that will be next biggie from the manufacturer. Also, the handset is likely to be priced at Rs 22,000 that is pretty reasonable.
When it comes to the specifications of the Micromax Canvas 5, the yet to be announced smartphone is said to arrive with a 5 inch FHD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution translating to 441 ppi pixel density. Under its hood, it is claimed to be powered by a new octa core MT67xx chipset from MediaTek that is supplemented by 2 GB of RAM.
The Micromax smartphone is tipped to bundle 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded using a micro SD card. Imaging wise, the Canvas 5 is claimed to arrive equipped with a massive 18 MP primary camera that is accompanied by a 5 MP front facing selfie snapper onboard, claims the report.
As it is mentioned above, earlier this month there were rumors claiming that Micromax will be releasing a CyanogenMod based smartphone by the end of this year. The report noted that Cyanogen turned down a Google buyout offer made by the SVP of Android, Sundar Pichai. It also claimed that if this handset makes its way into the market, Cyanogen would be taking a big bite of the Android’s low cost ambition.
