Microsoft launched two handsets Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL a while back and now time has come for these two offerings from Microsoft to see the light of day in India. Microsoft has been sending out invites lately for the official launching of these smartphones in India with a tagline “Inspiration Doesn’t Work Only 9 to 5 “. Microsoft announced both these smartphones back at Mobile World Congress this year and as of now these smartphones are listed on the Microsoft India official website. So lets find out what these smartphones has to offer to Indian audience.
Lumia 640 is a dual sim smartphone running on windows 8.1 with lumia denim is further upgradable to windows 10 when it comes out for the smartphones. Lumia 640 boasts a 5 inch Clear Black IPS HD display with a display resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The smartphone comes with a corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to prevent the smartphones from occasional scratches and nicks. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocking 1.2 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with Adreno 305 GPU for providing stunning graphics. Other than that the smartphones has a native storage of 8 GB which can be further expanded to 128 GB with micro SD card. On the camera front the smartphone comes with an 8MP camera with LED flash and 1MP front facing camera with video calling and selfies. It packs all the usual connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is drawing power from a 2500 mAh battery.
Lumia 640 XL boasts of a bigger 5.7 inch with similar clear black HD IPS display with display resolution of 1280×720 pixels with the sam corning Gorlla Glass 3 protection to protect the display against scratches. This smartphone packs the same quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocking 1.2 GHz with Adreno 305 Graphics engine. The smartphone comes with same 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of native storage is present which can be further expanded to 128 GB with micro SD card. It also runs on the same windows 8.1 operating system and will be upgradable to windows 10. This smartphone comes with dual sim functionality along with 13 MP of auto focus rear camera with LED flash. A 5 MP front facing camera is present for better selfies and video calling support. With connectivity options same as that of Lumia 640 it is packing a larger 3000 mAh battery. The smartphone will be launched on April 7 and are considered to be mid-range offerings.
