Once upon a time, Nokia was use to be first choice of mobile phone users but now things got changed when people went crazy after Android and iOS smartphones. The craziness even washed out BlackBerry but the Lumia devices seems to be working well for Nokia as they are counting some profit due to them.
Still there are lots of die-hard fans of Nokia and they are searching for Nokia tablet phones or Nokia tablet devices since tablets became popular. Earlier there was no chance that they can get a Nokia tablet but now it seems like Nokia is working on their first tablet device.
Nokia Tablet Phone – is it real?
According to few leaked pictures on some Chinese websites and forums, Nokia seems to be working on a Windows RT running tablet. Nokia is going to provide its hardware support to Windows RT.
Nokia Windows RT Tablet codenamed Sirius
The Nokia tablet is codenamed as Nokia Sirius and its design seems to be inspired of Lumia devices. Nokia is going to provide it in 5-6 different colors, just like Lumia smartphones.
According to the leaked picture, the Nokia tablet is looking good as well thin and if the weight is well controlled then it can start the journey for Nokia in tablet section.
The Nokia Sirius is said to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset on which quad core processor clocked at 2.15GHz has been added. The storage is said to be 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage while the display is going to have full HD 1080p resolution.
The display is going to measure 10.1 inch and it will support up to 5 fingers multi touch. Nokia is going to cover the design with a cover just like Microsoft Surface and there will be a keyboard attached too.
The battery inside will be removable and Nokia is also planning to ship additional battery with the device so that users can charge and keep an additional battery with them, although the Sirius is expected to provide at least 10 hours of battery life. I think Nokia will be achieving this much battery life easily as Nokia is known for its better battery life.
Nokia Tablet vs new iPad
Every new high end feature tablets try to compete with latest iPad in the market and so does the Nokia Tablet. In order to become a good competitor to the new iPad (announcing later in this year), Nokia Sirius should have LTE support, impressive display, superb processing and graphics and better battery life.
But Nokia’s decision of going with Windows RT may hurt them as this OS is still way behind than iOS and Android when it comes to quality apps.
The Finnish mobile phone manufacturer is going to arrange an event on September 26 this year and then the Nokia Sirius is supposed to be launch. If Nokia carry on its brand name ‘Lumia’ with this tablet then it can be named as Nokia Lumia Tablet.
Nokia’s care for Windows RT
One thing is pretty much clear that after the device gets launched, then whether it’s going to be successful or not but it’s definitely going to help Windows RT from getting drowned. Nokia is also planning a new Lumia smartphone with 6 inch display which is right now codenamed as ‘Nokia Bandit’.
