The much awaited OnePlus One smartphone has been launched in the Indian market for a price of Rs 21,999 for the 64 GB variant that comes in Sandstone Black color option. The 16 GB variant with Silk White color will be made available soon in the country. The handset can be purchased starting from today exclusively on Amazon via invites. Furthermore, the India specific invites for the Tuesday launch have already been distributed through Amazon and OnePlus.
The manufacturer claims that OnePlus and Amazon platform are integrated and those invites grabbed using OnePlus accounts can be used to purchase the device from the Amazon OnePlus One page. From tomorrow, users can visit the oneplus.net/in page to register for an OnePlus One invite.
OnePlus claimed that the India launch is the next phase for the company with a new team and model. The firm added that of the 17 countries where it has launched the OnePlus One, India will be the first one to get a localized service infrastructure to provide both walk-in and phone support to users.
The company added that its exclusive online retail partnership with Amazon also includes accessories of the OnePlus One smartphone including Flip Cover, Bamboo StyleSwap Cover and Silver Bullet Earphones. Other accessories such as Screen Protector, Protective Case, Clear Case and JBL E1+ Earphones will be coming soon.
The One arrives with a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with FHD 1080p pixel resolution layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and powered by a 2.5 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 paired with Adreno 330 GPU. Unfortunately, OnePlus One features a 13 MP Sony IMX214 sensor with six lenses and f/2.0 aperture and quick shutter speed of 0.3 seconds. There is also a 5 MP front facing selfie camera for video conferencing.
Connectivity options on the OnePlus One include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC functionality. A 3,100 mAh non-removable battery powers the smartphone from within.
