Couple of days back, there were reports circulating that Samsung would be launching the Galaxy Mega 2 in India for a pricing of Rs 21,499. Now, the South Korean tech giant has officially announced the device for a pricing of Rs 20,900 and it is available from the company’s online store.
The Galaxy Mega 2 is given a 6 inch HD display that flaunts a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and it is stuffed with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor of undisclosed chipset that is teamed up with 1.5 GB of RAM. Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the Samsung phablet arrives with 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded externally by another 64 GB using a micro SD card.
The imaging aspects of the Galaxy Mega 2 include an 8 MP primary camera that is supplemented with LED flash to provide enhanced low light performance. Also, there is a 5 MP front facer that can assist in clicking self portrait shots and in video conferencing.
Connectivity wise, the successor to the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 is packed with the usual set of features including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS with GLONASS and micro USB. While there is no word from Samsung confirming if the device supports single and dual SIM support, we expect is sport dual SIM functionality as in the Galaxy Mega 5.8 that was launched in India last year. Furthermore, the phablet uses a 2,800 mAh battery whose backup is not disclosed by the company.
Apart from these specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 comes pre-loaded with software features such as Group Play, Story Album, S Voice, S Health 3.0, Screen Mirroring, S Browser, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Smart Switch and Quick Connect. Also, the Galaxy Mega 2 arrives in couple of couple variants including Blizzard White and Cosmic Back respectively.
