Sony India official website has listed a new smartphone named Xperia E4g which is available to buy at a price of 13,490INR. The device is also available at offline retailers retailing at a slightly reduced price of 12,999INR.
As per the features, the device looks like a competitor of Moto E (2nd Gen), Xiaomi Redmi 2, and all other smartphones in that price range but as always Sony managed to keep device with a comparatively high price tag.
The key highlights in the specifications are dual SIM card support, LTE compatibility and a battery life which is said to last for two days, or for 6 hours if you’re continuously watching HD videos.
Design section holds nothing new and this device is surely going to slide among its family members, making it tough for us to discriminate.
Sony Xperia E4g Specs
Let me first write down the complete specifications of the device and then I’m sure it will be easy for you to decide if you’re still waiting for a Xperia smartphone in the low-budget section.
- MediaTek MT6732 chipset
- 64-bit quad-core 1.5GHz processor (Cortex A53)
- Mali T760 GPU
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB of internal storage

- qHD resolution of 540×960 pixels
- Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS with Xperia skin
- 5MP rear camera
- LED flash and autofocus
- 2MP front camera
- LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS
- xLoud and Sony 3D sound technology
- 2300mAh battery
Now the device with above mention specifications and features is priced 13,490INR.
I’m still not sure with exactly what strategy Sony is running its Xperia division because dozens of smartphones with similar specs are retailing for the price around 6-7k INR in the country.
Sony has also featured certain benefits of using this device like it holds in a branded trust, which is definitely there, but consumers have already started giving the chance to new brands.
The device promises to offer the battery life of 2 days at regular uses, using its Stamina battery mode. But, that needs to be practically checked once the device is out and tested.
With this price range, the device isn’t going to help its salesperson.
