Google has announced two new Chromebook models in India, both priced 12,999INR. One of them is manufactured by XOLO while the other one by Nexian (Indonesian company).
Nexian model will be available through Amazon.in while the XOLO one will be sold at Snapdeal, both exclusively. These Chromebooks were launched in the month of March, this year.
Commenting on the launch, Smita Hashim, Global Product Manager of Chrome OS said, “When we introduced Chromebooks four years ago, we wanted to build a laptop for the way people use computers today – always fast, easy to use, and secure by default. Since launching Chromebooks in India, we’ve been working to ensure that Chromebooks work in an environment where connectivity can be spotty, and many people’s first experiences with technology and through a phone rather than a laptop.”
Coming at the specifications, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage is part of the device which is powered by Rockchip RK3388 chipset having 1.8GHz quad-core processor inside.
Since these are Chromebooks, so you need not be updated again of the operating system (Chrome OS it is, for newbies).
The storage is expandable using microSD card slot and not to forget, both these models will have 100GB of free Google Drive storage (for two years).
Chrome keyboard and clickable touchpad are part of the devices along with features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 port. Combined headphone and mic jack are also placed along with 1MP camera at the front for video chatting.
11.6inch is the display size which is added on IPS panel offering a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio. 4,200mAh battery is responsible to run the device for at least 10 hours.
What do you think guys? Does any of these new Chromebook models are worth of 12,999INR price tag? Given that, no better laptop is available with such low price tag.
