November 30th was earmarked on the calendars of the personal tech media as the day when Vivo announces its new set of flagship devices. As a brand, Vivo has always placed a lot of emphasis on the looks and the aesthetics of its phones, and the trend has continued with the X6 and the X6Plus. While they do not have a lot of products out in the market, Vivo has definitely shipped quality and that is perhaps why the X6 and the X6Plus were some of the most anticipated devices in the recent past.
The two devices have been leaked out fairly often in the past month or so and finally the devices are here. Vivo has followed the lead of Microsoft here, in announcing two phones with identical exteriors and interiors and basically just bumping up the specifications. The Vovo X6Plus is the larger of the two phones and features a 5.7 inch 1080P display as compared to the X6 which has a 5.2 inch 1080 P panel. Another spot where the two phones are different is the battery backup that is available, the X6Plus comes with a larger battery as compared to the Vivo X6. The X6 Plus has 3000 mAh battery while the X6 features only a 2400 mAh unit. Both the batteries are not removable. The X6Plus comes with 64 GB of internal storage while the users of X6 wil be able to make do with only 32 GB. There is an expansion slot for Micro SD on both the devices.
Among the common specifications, the two devices come with Fingerprint scanner on the back and Hybrid Dual SIM slots. Both phones come with 4 GB RAM and are powered by the Octacore MTK6752 chipset. The rear camera is 13 MP while the front snapper is 8 MP. Both the devices run Vivo’s Funtouch OS, which is based on Android 5.1 out of the box. The two devices will be made available in three color options: gold, rose gold and silver.
The pricing of the Vivo X6 in China is around 2598 Yuan while that of the X6Plus is 3198 Yuan. Quick converstion reveals that the two phones will cost about Rs 27,000 and Rs 33,000 in India, though that is merely guesswork.
