July 8, 2014 by Pawan Kumar

As expected, Xiaomi enters the Indian market and now it’s the second biggest Chinese brand after Gionee to come over here. And guess what, they arrived with their fastest smartphone ever and that too at a very affordable price tag which is going to be very challenging for all other brands who are right now going well in India.

Xiaomi Mi 3 is the model announced today in India and its going to be available at a price of Rs 14,999 but don’t expect it to be having middle-priced specifications and features. I’ll drop down here the complete information you need to know about Xiaomi Mi 3.

Xiaomi Mi 3 Specifications

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Chipset
  • Quad Core 2.3GHz processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of Internal Storage
  • 5 inch IPS Retina Display
  • Full HD 1080p Resolution (1920×1080)
  • Dirac HD Sound
  • Android 4.3 with MIUI v5
  • 13MP rear camera
  • Dual LED Flash
  • 2MP front camera
  • 3G and 2G support
  • Wi-Fi (with Direct and Display)
  • GPS with GLONASS and A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • NFC
  • 3050mAh battery

At a price tag of Rs 14,999 Xiaomi Mi 3 is definitely the best smartphone any customer should buy. If go along with the specs and features then other similar smartphones are priced over 30k and this is where the main difference is.

The process inside is among the fastest one till now and we had already seen it used in highly priced flagship phones. The 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage can easily help out the processor to offer awesome user experience which is faster and better. The only feature not included is support for SD card.

The full HD resolution display manufactured by Sharp is the Retina display (technically equivalent to that of iPhone 5) and it’s definitely going to make a lot of difference in terms of quality. But we need to wait till the review to get exactly how well this display is.

Xiaomi Mi 3 Launched in India

Android 4.3 is the one which comes pre-installed loaded up with MIUI skin (v5) while Android 4.4 update is in the pipeline. The skin looks really awesome and as per its previous reviews are concerned it works flawlessly.

A 5 piece lens on the back with 13MP sensor is capable of taking beautiful pictures and with an aperture of f/2.2 it can easily make the difference in terms of quality when compared to other 13MP smartphone cameras. There is a 2MP camera in front for selfie and both of them are capable of recording full HD videos.

With connectivity features like 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC, Xiaomi had covered almost everything in here except the LTE. The GPS is further supported by GLONASS and A-GPS and there are accelerometer, gyro, compass, barometer and proximity sensors included too.

As per the design is concerned it got a neat lookings with slightly rounded corners to make it comfortable in holding. Mi can easily compete with any other smartphone in this price range in terms of design and can win for sure.

With a 3050mAh battery inside, Mi 3 is claimed to offer 21 hours of continuous internet usage over 3G while up to 25 hours of continuous talk time over 2G cellular network. This was the last feature to be good and Xiaomi had done it better. It will be available in White, Silver, black, Yellow, Pink and Blue color options.

The phone will be available through online shopping portal from 15th of July and I’m pretty sure that it’s going to get ‘out of stock‘ within few minutes (or may be seconds if they are not coming with huge stock). Truly, at a price tag of just Rs 14,999 Xiaomi Mi 3 is the best phone you can buy. [Source]
