The Chinese behemoth, Xiaomi is going to launch a new device in India on March 12. Adopting a unique promotion strategy, Xiaomi has started a crossword puzzle where you have to locate three feature keywords related to the upcoming device. The lucky winners will be rewarded with priority passes which will enable them to buy the device without participating in the flash sale which is due on March 12 as indicated by Xiaomi’s Facebook page.
Until now three words have been located and they are “wide angle”, “snapdragon” and “expandable”. Taking into consideration the three words it rules out the recently launched Xiaomi MiPad which features a Nividia Tegra K1 processor. So it only hints at Redmi 2 as the new smartphone to be unveiled in the upcoming flash sale.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 is successor to highly successful Redmi 1S which gained huge popularity and strengthened Xiaomi’s position in Indian market. Redmi 2s packs some high end features. Boasting a 4.7 inch LCD with HD resolution and screen density of 312 PPI. It is powered by a 64-bit quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 CPU coupled with Adreno 306 Graphics engine. Running MIUI 6 on top of android kitkat 4.4.4 out of the box it will be upgraded to android Lollipop. It packs 1 GB ram with built-in storage of 8 GB which can be expanded to 64 Gb with micro SD card. Xiaomi Redmi 2 features a 8 MP and 2 MP rear and front snapper and drawing juice from 2200 mAh battery.
It will be priced somewhere around Rs.6500 and will be a fierce competitor to another upcoming smartphone, Moto E which will feature a pricetag of Rs. 6999. Considering the nature of flash sales in past times it will be really hard to grab one and you will be very lucky if you get to order one. Xiaomi flash sales in past have ended in unbelievable 1-2 seconds. Similar trends are going to be seen, come March 12.
