Xiaomi Redmi 2 Launched For Rs. 6999

March 12, 2015 by Sarvesh Darak

Xiaomi has finally launched the much anticipated Redmi 2, the successor of last years’ Redmi 1S. Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be available for purchase starting March 24 via the flash sale exclusively on Flipkart. Redmi 2 is launched at an affordable price of Rs. 6999 as expected earlier. Registrations for flash sale will begin from today starting 6 PM.

Redmi 2 sports a 4.7 inch IPS fully laminated HD display with 312 ppi. The display quality will be pretty impressive with clear image reproduction. The display is further protected by a DragonTrail Glass protection that means you don’t have to use a screen guard at all. It packs in a 64 bit  quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor underneath coupled with 1 GB of Ram. It will deliver a seamless multitasking performance. Adreno 305 graphics engine is present to satisfy the graphic hungry games.

Redmi 2 has 8 GB of internal memory which can be further expanded to 32 GB with micro SD card. This dual sim phone runs on Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 on top of android kitkat out of the box. Camera features are pretty impressive too. It brings on board an 8 MP rear snapper with BSI sensor and Omnivision Sensor along with LED flash. The rear camera is capable of recording 1080p i.e.full HD videos. The front camera is a 2 MP snapper which is capable of recording 720p i.e.HD videos.

Redmi 2 supports 4G connectivity along with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB-OTG. One thing unique about this smartphone is that both the sims support 4G so that you don’t have to swap the sim again and again to use the LTE connectivity. The smartphone is powered by a 2200 mAh battery unit which will provide enough juice to keep it running a full day without charge. Redmi 2 is available in pink, yello, green, grey and white colors. Like its predecessor it will be hard to get as the flash sale just last mostly 2-3 seconds and you will be really lucky if you get one. Be ready in case you want to own one.
