While the tech media world is busy with the launches happening at the IFA 2014 show in Berlin, the India based smartphone markers are coming up with their offerings. After a long wait, Xolo has let out its first Windows Phone based smartphone dubbed Win Q900s on sale for a price of Rs 9,999.
The Xolo Win Q900s was officially launched in June and it was eagerly awaited by the Windows fans to be made available. Now, the device is listed for sale on e-commerce portal Snapdeal. The highlight of the handset is its light weight profile measuring a mere 100 grams in weight making it the lightest Windows Phone based smartphone.
On the technical specifications front, the Xolo Win Q900s flaunts a 4.7 inch multi-touch IPS OGS display that provides a HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. This screen is layered with Dragon Trail Glass that makes it scratch resistant and six times stronger than the usual displays. A quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz powers the phone and this is aided by Adreno 302 graphics engine and 1 GB of RAM.
The Windows Phone 8.1 based Xolo smartphone includes an 8 MP primary camera with PureCel sensor and LED flash. This snapper is accompanied by a 2 MP front-facer that can handle the multi-tasking capabilities. Also, there is 8 GB of internal storage capacity in the Win Q900s and this can be expanded externally. Other goodies onboard the Xolo smartphone are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, dual SIM functionality and a 1,800 mAh battery.
It has to be noted that the Xolo Win Q900s will be one of the great value for money offering in the market at this time. However, it will still find a tough challenge with the other Windows Phone 8.1 offerings in this price bracket launched by Nokia and Micromax. Of course, the latter’s Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone dubbed Micromax Win 121 will be the direct competitor of the Xolo phone as both are from the homegrown vendors.
