When Apple and Samsung Will Use Wireless Charging in Smartphones

March 13, 2013 by sarvesh

It was the Nokia which started providing the Wireless Charging enable smartphone (Lumia 920 & 820) for the first time. Both of these devices run on Windows 8 Phone OS so not all the smartphone lovers were excited about them.

People are actually waiting for the Apple and Samsung to introduce the wireless charging feature in their smartphones. Android and the iOS devices are the leading smartphones and Samsung is the leading android smartphone manufacturer.

HTC, MOTOROLA and LG had already joined the Qi list and they will be getting this feature on their device soon but I didn’t find the Samsung and Apple one which I and almost every smartphone lover is looking for.

Qi List

Qi is the most popular choice as the wireless charging provider and Samsung and Apple may also look for the same. Nokia provided the wireless charging feature at the time when iPhone 5 was launched so in this technology, Apple and Samsung are way behind.

If you really want to add the wireless charging feature into your device then you can search for optional back cover for your device. A special Qi kit is available for Galaxy S3 using which you can feel the wireless charging going on.

Apple Logo

Now coming onto Apple, I am sure they will look for some technical feature that will be developed by them. Before making the feature officially out, Apple will go for making a patent instead. This year the next expected smartphone is the iPhone 5S and we can expect the feature to be introduced with the device.

Samsung Logo

Apple may also provide the feature as an add-on for the iPhone and the feature may also get introduce to the iPad while Samsung will look for providing it with the upcoming smartphones. Till now it is not sure for the Galaxy S4 but if Samsung provides then it will be first device to get this feature.
