Celkon Q40+ with 1 GB of RAM Gets Listed on Official Website

October 8, 2014 by Abhinaya Prabhu

Hyderabad based tech vendor, Celkon announced the launch of Celkon A354C smartphone earlier this week for Rs 2,599. Within couple of days, the manufacturer has come up with yet another launch, Celkon Q40+. Well, this latest smartphone has been listed on the official website of Celkon, but the vendor has not revealed any details pertaining to its pricing and availability. However, we expect that the firm will be announcing the smartphone officially in the coming days with a price tag between Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000.

The Celkon Q40+ is a dual SIM smartphone and it runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. It comes equipped with a 4 inch WVGA IPS display that carries a screen resolution of 480×800 pixels. Obviously, it will be rendering good viwing angles and moderate color reproduction as it incorporates an IPS panel. Powering the smartphone is a quad-core processor of unspecified chipset that is clocked at 1.3 GHz. This is aided by 1 GB of RAM that can take charge of the multi-tasking department efficiently.

On the storage front, the Celkon Q40+ makes use of 8 GB of inbuilt storage capacity that can be further expanded externally by another 32 GB using a micro SD. The Celkon Q40+ sports a 5 MP rear camera coupled with LED flash for an enhanced low light performance and there is no word regarding the presence of a front facing selfie camera. In terms of connectivity, it comes packed with usual aspects such as 3G, Wi-Fi, micro USB and Bluetooth. The smartphone makes use of a 1,500 mAh battery, but the backup rendered by this battery remains unknown.

The technical specifications of the Celkon Q40+ are pretty much predictable and they are not too different from what most of the other smartphones in the entry-level market segment provide.

Lately, Celkon A352E was officially listed on the company website and unlike the Celkon Q40+ this one is fueled by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform. It also features pretty basic specifications as it is a sub Rs 3,000 priced smartphone.
