Gionee name is a English Derivative from the Chinese name “Jing Li” meaning Golden Stand i.e Gionee means Golden Quality and they’re living up to there name by launching quality products. Gionee is among the emerging brands in India and few hours ago they introduced the World’s slimmest smartphone under their banner. The smartphone is named Gionee Elife S5.5 and the name itself tells the dimension of the phone i.e. it’s just 5.5mm thick.
But having the tag of world’s slimmest phone isn’t enough so Gionee added many new exciting features which can help the device to compete with other phones in the category in Indian market.
Gionee Elife S5.5 launch
The phone was launched in an event held in Goa today with a price tag of Rs 22,999. The phone is going to be available in five sets of colors white, black, pink, purple and blue and don’t forget it’s the world’s slimmest phone till now.
Specs and Features
Going with the trend, Gionee Elife S5.5 hosts Octa-core (MediaTek’s MT6592) processor which is helped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The processor can go up to 1.7GHz clock speed which is another impressive feature to experience.
The design is not just slim, but also elegant and simple. It’s definitely among the best looking smartphones out in the market. It got glass panel in front and back but it doesn’t catches the fingerprints like other phones. I’m sharing now Gionee Elife S5.5 specifications (complete).

The features which will help this device to sell are being slimmest, good camera, full HD AMOLED display which offers good viewing angles and sharp display, an Octa-core processor, 3G, good battery life, very attractive design and off course budget price tag.
Features which can go against are no expandable storage option, still running on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), Amigo skin (2.0) is still not the best and a fact that Gionee is a Chinese brand but they’ve kinda overcome this mindset.
According to me, the Gionee Elife S5.5 smartphone is good because it got impressive design, good performance, battery life and a good camera. I’m eagerly waiting to get my first impressions but how about you. Is it a good phone you wish to buy now?
