After unveiling the device in a recent event in Beijing, HTC has launched the same device now in India while everyone was expecting of the launch of One M9. You can buy HTC One M9+ for the price of 52,500INR.
This new smartphone holds onto a different processor than original HTC One M9 (which was also launched recently), slightly bigger display measuring 5.2inch, Quad HD (2k) resolution and fingerprint sensor for the first time.
Fresh Features
So, the big deal with this freshly arrived unit is its 2K display and fingerprint sensor which is built right within the home button.
Home button? In HTC flagship? Yes, I’m not kidding!
Following the path of iPhone (5S and 6), Galaxy S6, HTC has implemented a fingerprint sensor right into the home button. Of course, it had to make space for those large speakers at the bottom but this is truly going to be worth.
It is too early to conclude whether HTC’s fingerprint sensor is going to be better than of Galaxy S6 or even iPhone 6 but it is definitely going to improve user experience of HTC fanboys (or even girls for the case).
Other specifications
The design part is still same as of latest 2015 flagship except for the new arrival of the home button between the boom speakers. The device inside is powered by octa-core 2.2GHz processor (MediaTek MT6795T chipset).
Along with the processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage is there. The storage is allowed to expand up to 128GB via traditional microSD card.
The display is slightly bigger as it measures 5.2inch on-board featuring 2k resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. The device is said to run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box which is topped up HTC Sense 7.0 UI.
The DUO camera on the rear finally manage to find the place in this One M9+ while the main camera featuring 20MP shooter (f/2.2). The Front part is covered by UltraPixel selfie camera. A 2840mah non-removable battery is the power source.
If HTC kept the price of this One M9+ slightly lower than (or at least equivalent) Galaxy S6, then it could have helped the sales graph.
Let’s see how the battle goes on now.
I’ll update you with the e-commerce listings of this device very soon.
