April 1, 2015 by Sarvesh Darak

Intex, the local mobile manufacturer,  is back with a new smartphone dubbed as Aqua HD 5.0 thereby adding yet another member to its Aqua series of smartphones. The new smartphone bears nearly identical specifications to another Intex smartphone namely Aqua Star HD and is available at a price of Rs 6999 from Flipkart. In terms of specifications the smartphone is quite similar to many other budget phones and do not have anything remarkable that make it stand out from the crowd.

Aqua HD 5.0 boasts a 5 inch HD IPS OGS display sporting a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. OGS displays offer better responsiveness to touches as compared to other capacitive displays. It packs a quad core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocking 1.3 GHzc coupled with a usual 1 GB of RAM. It has a built in storage capacity of 8 GB which can be further expanded to 32 GB with micro SD card support. These specifications are nothing new and like others it will offer a seamless and flawless multitasking and gaming experience on the bigger and brighter display.

The smartphone comes with dual sim functionality and runs on Android Kitkat 4.4 out of the box. Moving onto the camera department the smartphone packs in a 13 MP rear shooter with auto focus and LED flash. At the front a 5 MP camera is present to provide a satisfying selfie and video calling experience. ON the connectivity front the smartphone is equipped with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS but lacks the 4G connectivity which is becoming the selling point of budget smartphones these days.

Aqua HD 5.0 packs a 2300 mAh battery which will definitely keep it running for a long time without a need for recharge considering the lacks of 4G and a low battery draining CPU. Overall this is a nice smartphone in the budget segment and will be competing against the likes of Xiaomi and Micromax among others.
