Launching a new smartphone silently isn’t a new trend. And, following the same, Lenovo has launched A5000 quietly in Russia. The device is priced RUB 12,000 (which converts to approx 14,500INR), and it features a whopping 4,000mAh battery. Lenovo A6000 Plus and A7000 are already available in the Indian country, and this newly launched smartphone may also be on its way.
At this moment, there are no details known of it’s pricing and availability schedule for Indian consumers, but we hope it to arrive the shores soon.
Coming at the specifications of this new device, the large 4,000mAh battery will help it to deliver up to 17 hours of continuous talk time over 3G network, and a standby time of 792 hours.
The device also features QuickCharge technology that can boost the device to offer up to 4 hours of talk time in just 15 minutes of power in, while it will take around 3 hours to get fully charged from zero level.
Coming at the CPU part, MediaTek MT6582 is the main power source that has a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, which is packed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Storage expansion option is also there, supporting up to 32GB of microSD card.
A 5inch IPS display with HD resolution of 720×1280 pixels is there at the front with a pixel density of 300ppi. The OS version is said to be Android 4.4 KitKat, at the moment, but I do hope that Lenovo updates it before making it available in global markets.
3G (no word on 4G LTE so far), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS are the wireless connectivity standards. There is a space for two SIM cards as well. The camera unit possesses 8MP camera on the rear with autofocus and LED flash while the front part got just a 2MP selfie unit. The device is also said to be rain and splash proof screen protection.
With all that said, Lenovo A5000 is definitely an attractive device. But, for it to be a success, it’s pricing needs to be kept strategically.
Update – The phone is available for 10,250INR at Mahesh Telecom (A phone store in Mumbai).
If you’re a fan of this brand (or want to be), then you should be aware of the rumour going for the cheaper version of its Vibe Shot that will feature 720p display with its unique camera unit at the rear.
