The highly anticipated Chinese brand, Meizu has finally set its step in India. After successfully launching in various other countries including the likes of Hong Kong, parts of Northern America and Europe, Meizu has officially come to India today. The launch event by the brand was held in Delhi today and was attended by the journalists and fans of the brand alike.
Apart from the announcement of the flagship device that the MX5 is, Meizu also made an announcement about the service centers in the country promising to open about 40 dedicated service centers in 20 different cities. While this number sounds low at least when compared to the likes of Samsung, Gionee and Microsoft, the three biggest players when it comes to offline presence, it is at the very least a good start for a brand that has next to nothing in terms of on ground presence.
The MX 5, in terms of specifications comes with a 5.5 inch 1080 P AMOLED panel that has been manufactured by Samsung. The phone features a finger print scanner called mTouch. The phone also comes with mPay that is currently making the payment of Paypal accounts simpler and faster. You would expect more third parties/ banks to be integrated in future. The phone is powered by a Helio X10 Chipset with 3GB of RAM to keep things buzzing. The rear camera is a 20.7 MP while the front camera is a 5 MP sensor. Being a Dual SIM device, you have active Dual SIM support. You do have support for both FDD and LDD 4G bands in India right out of the box on both the SIMs. There is 3150 mAh battery on board to keep the phone buzzing along. The device will be available in three variants of internal storage namely 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB, all of which are compared here.
In terms of its looks and feel, the MX5 is completely metallic built and Meizu describes it to be a product of “Exquisite 12-gun 3D sand blasting, a 5 step anodizing process and superb fine polishing,” which makes the device a joy to hold in the hand. In terms of software on board, the device is running 64-bit Flyme OS 4.5 Popular Flyme system which is based on Android 5.0.1. Meizu also announced that the phone will come under a unique Doorstep Repair service where you will not need to take the phone to any repair center, but a representative will come and see you right at your door to do the needful.
The phone will available for a price of Rs 19,999 from Snapdeal.
