Motorola has announced the Moto X Play in India. The device is largely a mid budget smartphone that lies somewhere in between the Moto G, third generation and the new Moto X Style, which is the premium top of the line flagship product from Motorola. Despite the status of it being a budget phone, the Moto X Play really packs a powerful punch thanks to some really good hardware built in as well as a nearly stock Nexus like Vanilla Android OS.
The phone will retail at a price of Rs 18,499 for the 16 GB version while you will have to shell out Rs 19,999 for the 32 GB variant. Both, the white and black versions of the phone will go on sale on Flipkart exclusively starting tonight, i.e. from September 15th.
In terms of specifications, the Moto X Play comes with a 5.5 inch 1080 P display with Snapdragon 615 at the heart of the phone. You have 2 GB RAM on board and support for Micro SD card to go alongside the internal memory that is available. The camera on the device is a 21 MP unit with f/2.0 aperture and a dual tone flash. There is support for 1080 P video recording as well as some nifty features like phase detect auto focus. Coming to the front of the device, you have a 5 MP camera on the Moto X Play. The phone will have a non removable 3630 mAh battery and will run with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop right out of the box.
