Swipe Telecom has manufactured a new tablet which is launched today with a partnership with MTV. The tablet is called MTV Slate and its going to be available at a price in India of Rs 14,999 only. The tablet is featuring latest standard of Android features along with 3G calling support which is definitely going to attract a lot of customers if the marketing campaign is done well.
According to tablet feature’s point of view, it looks good. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system which is indeed the best Android version we have so far although not the latest as Android 4.3 is out but yet to come on devices.
At launch event, Saugato Bhowmik (SVP Consumer Products – Viacom18) said, “MTV Slate tablet offers brilliant performance at a super price. Loaded with MTV content it fits right within the MTV personality, targeting the ever connected youth.”

At its heart, MTV Slate got Quad Core A7 processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz and the storage department is lead by 1GB of RAM, followed by 8GB of internal storage and expandable slot for microSD card capable of holding up to 32GB of storage. As per these specifications are concerned, the performance will be good.
The display measures 7.85 inch diagonally which has been added on HD IPS panel. The display is offering resolution of 1024×768 pixels which means the tablet will be able to play HD (only 720p) quality content comfortably but the full HD content can be doubted.
As mentioned earlier, the OS is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which comes with lots of new features. The major feature is the multi user support which means you can create two or more user profiles for this tablet and keep each one them data separated comfortably. The performance will be buttery smooth and the battery life will also be impressive. The gesture typing keyboard should also be there unless the developers remove it from the base Android. Users will find few MTV apps preloaded in the tablet and also few wallpapers or themes.
You can use MTV Slate for some photographic levels too as it holds a 5MP camera at rear and a VGA on front. The rear camera can be used to take shots in day light conditions but there is no LED flash to support picture taking in low light conditions. For video calling, VGA camera is there to provide users the required support.
As far as connectivity is concerned, this tablet manufactured by Swipe Telecom is featured with Wi-Fi (with Hotspot feature), Bluetooth and 3G cellular network. Users can not just surf the internet with 3G cellular network but they will be even allowed to make voice calls.
No words have been there on the exact battery life but tablet packs in with a 3200mAh battery which will offer at least 5-8 hours of battery life with continuous usage and also a decent standby time.
