Samsung Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 Mid Range Smartphones Announced in India

As anticipated, Samsung announced the launch of the metal clad Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones in India for Rs 20,500 and Rs 25,500 respectively. In addition, the vendor also announced two mid-range smartphones – Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 that are priced at Rs 19,700 and Rs 23,000 respectively and they will go on sale starting from January 20.

Interestingly, the Galaxy E lineup of smartphones has been unveiled only in India for the first time and this marks its global announcement as well. This new series is said to be targeted at the powerful and compact smartphones seekers wanting a good viewing and selfie experience.

Both smartphones come with the ‘Hybrid Dual-SIM’ feature that allows the second SIM slot to be used as a micro SD card slot. Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat, the Samsung Galaxy E5 is given a 5 inch Super AMOLED display and it is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor of unspecified chipset backed by 1.5 GB of RAM. There is an 8 MP primary camera with auto focus and LED flash and a 5 MP front facing selfie snapper as well.

The Galaxy E5 bundles 16 GB of inbuilt storage that can be extended externally by another 64 GB using a micro SD card. There are connectivity aspects such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS and 2,400 mAh battery. The Galaxy E7, on the other houses a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display and is fueled by an unspecified 1.2 GHz quad core processor teamed up with 2 GB of RAM. There is a 13 MP rear auto focus camera with LED flash at the handset’s rear and a 5 MP front facer as well onboard.

The Galaxy E7 also packs in 16 GB of native storage that can in turn be extended further up to 64 GB using a micro SD card. Other goodies onboard include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity options and a 2,950 mAh battery.

Both smartphones arrive with wide angle selfie, selfie voice command, selfie with palm gesture and beauty face features. Also, there is ultra power saving mode for enhanced backup and private mode. In addition, Vodafone subscribers will receive 2 GB of 3G data per month for two months on purchasing the smartphone.
