The Chinese smartphone maker, Vivo entered the Indian market with the launch of the Vivo X5 Max, its latest flagship model that was unveiled in the last week. The vendor has priced the smartphone at Rs 32,980 and it carries the USP of measuring only 4.75 mm that makes it the world’s slimmest smartphone. Eventually, the Vivo offering outshines the Oppo R5 that was the thinnest smartphone so long measuring 4.85 mm thick. The highlight is that the smartphone does not compromise on any of its aspects as it comes with a micro SD card slot and 3.5 mm audio jack despite its slim profile.
Detailing on its technical specifications, the Vivo X5 Max arrives with a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display carrying a Full HD screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixel that results in a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. It is obvious that the Super AMOLED panels are preferred for slim smartphones than IPS LCD as they are slim without LED backlights.
Under its hood, the Vivo X5 Max is equipped with a 64 bit Snapdragon 615 octa core SoC with a quad core Cortex A53 cluster ticking at 1.5 GHz and another quad core Cortex A53 cluster ticking at 1 GHz. This octa core chipset is supplemented by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage capacity.
Storage wise, the Vivo offering arrives bundled with support for expandable storage up to 128 GB with a micro SD card slot onboard. For imaging, the X5 Max uses a high end 13 MP camera with wide aperture f/2.0 lens and LED Flash and a 5 MP front selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture for capturing wider selfies.
The other interesting aspect of the smartphone is the HiFi 2.0 Audio setup that combines Yamaha YSS-205X digital sound processing chip, SABRE ES9601 and OPA1612 Amplifier together to render a richer audio experience. The Vivo X5 Max runs on customized Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system.
A 2,000 mAh battery is housed inside the device and it sounds pretty average for the pricing and specifications of the smartphone. Otherwise, there are 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, USB OTG and Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity.
Vivo X5 Max is features a magnesium alloy and stainless steel build and flaunts an anti-fingerprint coating on its back. Vivo has priced the smartphone at Rs 32,980 that is pretty expensive compared to Oppo R5 that will be priced in the sub Rs 30,000 price bracket.
The good thing is that it has got two SIM slots in which the nano SIM slot can be used for microSD card. Vivo X5 Max comes packed with 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage. Thanks a lot
